The most important thing to Okashicon is the happiness and health of our attendees, staff, and all those who make Okashicon great. We have always done everything within our power to provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment to promote our community and make Okashicon a safe and welcoming space.
Since the beginning of COVID-19’s rise in Texas, Okashicon has kept a careful eye on the expert guidelines and recommendations for groups. Despite our many attempts to revise plans that would enable our July convention to continue without risking anyone’s health, it is with heavy hearts that we now recognize that Okashicon won’t be possible as we have come to love it in prior years. As such, we have decided to postpone Okashicon 2020. That said, we would like to introduce Okashicon at Home!
To our precious community, Okashicon recognizes that especially during this time, at our heart, it is both our duty and joy to provide opportunities to all of you to join together and share in the hobbies we all love. That’s why Okashicon is delighted to announce Okashicon At Home! Okashicon At Home will be a community-driven, virtual two-day event on July 18-19, 2020. Leading up to July 18th, however, we’ll be hosting a number of contests and providing quality content to bring you together with the community you know and love. Please e-mail us at [email protected] if you would like to be involved in supporting Okashicon At Home.
To our attendees who have already purchased passes for 2020, you have the opportunity for automatic transfer of your tickets for Okashicon 2021 or a refund. If you’re needing a refund, please contact us at [email protected] with your purchase information and we’ll be happy to process your request.
To our vendors, whether you are a dealer or an artist, we will be contacting you shortly so that you may choose as to whether or not you’d like to keep your space for Okashicon 2021. We understand that this is a difficult time for you as well, and as such, we’d like to support you in your needs and encourage you to join us for Okashicon At Home.
We will announce more details coming soon, so till then, please stay safe, healthy, and sweet!
